Khaleda urged not to side with war criminals

Industries Minister Dilip Barua on Wednesday urged opposition leader Khaleda Zia not to side with war crime suspects and hoped that she would accept the verdict of the tribunal after the trial, reports UNB.

Welcoming BNP's participation in the ongoing President's dialogue on Election Commission (EC) formation Barua said, "We hope BNP will play an active role in upholding the democratic system and implementing the spirit of the liberation war."


He was speaking at a discussion at Dhaka Reporters' Unity in the city as the chief guest. Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote arranged the discussion marking Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day with its central leader Jahangir Alam in the chair.


Awami League (AL) presidium member Satish Chandra Roy, AL leader Shah Alam Murad, Krishak League leader advocate Shamsul Haque Reza and MA Karim, among others, spoke at the programme.
